“The Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations”
The aim of this course is to explain the requirements of COMAH.It is for all persons who work at COMAH establishments. |
Course Modules:
Introduction(5 mins) – Describes the background to COMAH and outlines the main duties imposed by the Regulations.
Some Definitions(10 mins) – Provides the definition of some important terms used in the Regulations. General Duties(15 mins) – Covers the general duty on operators, explains the MAPP and the requirement on operators to notify the competent authority. Safety Reports(15 mins) – Explains the key requirements of a safety report. Emergency Plans(20 mins) – Deals with the key requirements of both on-site and off-site emergency plans. Provision of Information(10 mins) – Describes the information which operators must provide to the public, to the competent authority and to other establishments. The Competent Authority(5 mins) – Explains the primary functions of the competent authority. Self Test (10 mins) – 30 questions covering each of the previous 7 modules. Results are stored for later retrieval by training supervisors. |
The total time for the course is is 1 hour and 30 minutes, including the test.
